The 411 on the Best Time to Visit Florida
Whether you want to go camping on an Island or you want to stay in a luxury villa, Florida has something for everyone. Use the below guidelines to make sure you get the most out of your vacation.
When NOT to Visit Florida
Before we get into the best months to travel to Florida, let’s talk about when you shouldn’t spend your vacation time there. And that is — hurricane season.
Okay, you might not need to avoid the entire hurricane season because it runs from June 1st to Nov 30th but you should keep an eye on things before you book your flight tickets.
The most active time for hurricanes is in September and specifically September 10th. If you want to chance it, you’re likely to get some pretty good deals on your Florida trip.
Top Times to Enjoy the Sun & Sand
Keep in mind that most of the “snowbirds” are in Florida from the end of November to until the first of April. If you want to avoid the packed campgrounds, you might want to wait until after April.
May is right when it starts to warm up and most of the snowbirds are heading north. You’ll be able to enjoy the beach with moderate temperatures and you can always hit up the theme parks before they are overrun with Summer vacationers.
June is a very wet month even though it is very hot so if you’re wanting to soak up some sun, you’ll have to do it in between the rain showers. Even though it is raining a lot, you’ll still find that you have plenty of time to enjoy your outdoor activities.
July is a melt your face off hot month in Florida but if you’re a theme park lover, it’s a great time to get a good deal on tickets. If you’re in Florida during the 4th of July, you’ll be able to enjoy the many firework shows that are taking place in all of the popular attractions around Florida.
If you don’t have children, you might want to check out the theme parks in late August since some children are already back in school and there are some great discounts due to the continued heated months.
