The big problem with Christmas parties is that they fall right smack in the middle of the busiest time of the year.
Because of that, planning a Christmas party takes a lot of work. If you haven’t already, you need to start planning right now!
Not sure what your party needs?
We’ll teach you how to plan a Christmas party below, so let’s get started!
Planning the Party
There are a lot of things you have to think about when you plan your Christmas party. Here’s a quick list of things you don’t want to forget.
Pick a Venue
You might be planning to host the Christmas party at your home, but if you don’t have a lot of space, you may want to find someplace else. This could be a friend or family member’s house, or you could rent a venue.
Come up with a Theme
Your Christmas party already has a theme, right? The theme is Christmas!
Sometimes, the Christmas theme is enough, but there are several other themes you can add to your party. For example, you can throw a neighborhood decorating party, a fun shopping outing (for Christmas decor of course), or a tree decorating party.
Plan Some Games
No matter what type of Christmas party you throw, it’s not a party without games.
You can have an ugly sweater contest, have everyone try to wrap a present with one hand, or have a white elephant gift exchange. Just make sure everyone knows they have to bring holiday white elephant gifts with them!
Provide Plenty of Food
If you’re hosting the party around lunch or dinner, you might want to provide a full meal. Not one for cooking? Have everyone bring a dish to contribute.
Otherwise, make sure you have plenty of holiday snacks and treats on hand. And don’t forget the hot chocolate!
Bust out the Decorations
Unless you’re throwing a decorating party, you should put up your favorite Christmas decorations for the party to get everyone in the mood. And if you are throwing a decorating party, make sure you have all the decorations handy.
Sending the Invitations
Now that you know the type of Christmas party you want to host, you need to invite your guests! Here’s what you need to know about sending invitations.
Pick the Date Early
The first thing you need to do is pick a date.
Do this part early. Otherwise, you might not be able to find a date that doesn’t conflict with other holiday plans.
Send the Invitations
You should send out the invitations at least a month in advance. Remember, this season is the busiest time of the year for many people. If you send the invitations late, many people might already be busy that day.
Send a Reminder
If you do send out your invitations early, you can also send a reminder as the date gets closer. This ensures people won’t forget to show up to your amazing party!
How to Plan a Christmas Party That’ll Be the Best One in Town
The most important thing to remember when planning a Christmas event is to start early. Otherwise, your party might be rushed, empty, and overall disappointing.
