Even a few balloons, some streamers, and tablecloths make it a bit more special. If you make it all part of the theme of the event, you can have items, like centerpieces on the tables or other items as giveaways.

Including some games can add fun and some good-natured competition. It’s nice to keep these within a theme or related to the event. it’s also nice to arrange it so everyone wins a prize and they don’t all go to Bill, who wins everything all the time.
